L'Ainsa

 

It is one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval towns in Spain. Located at the confluence of the Ara and Cinca rivers, it forms an "island" (l'ainsa in Aragonese) surrounded by water.

Its medieval old town stands out, cataloged as a Historic-Artistic complex, the arcaded Plaza Mayor, the Romanesque church of Santa María, considered one of the best examples of the Romanesque of Alto Aragón and the castle walls from where you can see spectacular views of the mountains of the Pyrenees and its surroundings.

Do not forget to look at one of the viewpoints to contemplate the Cinca River and the Mediano reservoir that predominates throughout the valley.

Ordesa & Monte Perdido National Park

 

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park includes a set of four valleys (Ordesa, Añisclo, Escuaín and Pineta), which extend like arms around Monte Perdido, the highest limestone massif in Europe.

The  Ordesa valley  It is the soul of the park. When walking its trails, you will be able to find wonders such as the Tozal del Mallo, the Cascada del Estrecho, the Gradas de Soaso, the Bosque de las Hayas or the Cola de Caballo waterfall.

 

Other attractions are the  Añisclo Canyon , the  Gorges of Escuaín or the  Pineta valley.

Guara mountain range and canyons Natural Park

 

Its ravines, located in places of wild nature and spectacular beauty, are a true paradise for fans of adventure sports.

 

Each year they attract thousands of extreme sports fans, but also hikers, hikers and nature lovers. The many active tourism companies in the area will guide you if you want to go down a ravine or do any other activity.

To all this, the  Rio Vero Cultural Park .  Its many shelters with cave paintings have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Mountain biking and trekking routes

 

More and more people are opting for active tourism. El Sobrarbe is a privileged area for mountain biking. Traditional roads and old trails have been recovered and conditioned for hiking and cycling.

Guaso's church & "Esconjugadero"

 

Declared a site of cultural interest. It is located in the Tozal neighborhood, in the highest part of the town from where you can enjoy impressive views of the mountains, the Ara river valley and you can also see Ainsa.

 

From the "Esconjugadero", the priest and the population invoked storms or thunderstorms to divert or undo them and prevent them from damaging the fields and crops.
